Dear Sir
From a recent letter dated the 19th March 1868 from friend Lloyd it seems you have before you the Certificate & discharge of James Lomax, late private company I 1st U.S.C. Troops. the amount allowed him appear to be $136.60 I prepared the papers for him also a claim of John Carters that will soon be braught before you being a Justice of Middlesex. The aforesaid Lomax is anxious that I should receive his money being a near neighbour in as much will you give me the agency to collect the amount or a check on Baltimore for same as I am a stranger to you I refer you to Fergusson Tyson &c a firm in Balt'o on Lombard Street no 121 My office
