Mrs Cornelia Jones widow of Benjamin Jones (deceased) Co E 1st Regt U.S. Col'd Cav. would most respectfully solicit any information in your power concerning her claim for pay & bounty.
   
The papers were forwarded to your office Decr 23d 1865 
   
If you can give any information as to the probable time of her claim receiving attention in the War Dept. it will be a great relief   This is the second letter and have not as yet received an answer to the first.  I have been very sick all winter and being a poor widow would feel ever grateful by your
