Portsmouth Virginia Jany 31 1868 My Dear Sir I would very respectfully solicit your Endorsement in my behalf to Genl. Orlando Brown, Chief of Bureau in this state. I desire an appointment in the Bureau and hope I may be worthy your influence Genl Brown will have no agents in the Bureau only those that are true and loyal Republicans.
