My Dear Sir
I would very respectfully solicit your Endorsement in my behalf to Genl. Orlando Brown, Chief of Bureau in this state.  I desire an appointment in the Bureau and hope I may be worthy your influence Genl Brown will have no agents in the Bureau only those that are true and loyal Republicans.

Believing the knowledge you have of me will warrant you in aiding me.  The Genl will know by seeing your name upon by letter that I am worthy.
