Dear Sir
My School number just (60) sixty (49) forty nine present and (11) eleven absent. One has come since I commenced writing, which makes fifty present and ten absent. My School is interesting, many of the young freedmen passing
from their alphabet going on Spelling. And I hope some of them will soon be reading  I need an assistant teacher. My wife has been assisting me Some and the she makes a good assistant. and She is willing to be employed as an assistant and I am sure her services would be very valuable to the Freedmans School. Please employ her Respectfully S.C. Johnson
