This school was established by the Superintendent of Education & is patronized by a large number of industrious & orderly freedmen, whose employers are very favorably inclined toward said school - The present teacher without assistance can not teach all the scholars who will be sent - The desires or requests that an assistant be engaged - The freedman as yet are unable to pay any part of the tuition - Some of the pupils show a disposit [disposition]] to learn and will be benefitted - others as yet have made but little progress.
