New. Town School
This is a private school of about ten or twelve scholars, taught by a native white woman, whose capacity in the rudiments of learning, exceeds her morals. I could not recommend her as a proper subject for the fostering care or assistance of an incorruptible and virtuous "Bureau".

Front Royal School

This school is taught by Miss Mary E. Perry (colored) who is paid in part by the Preb. Home Mission."  The average attendance this month is thirty.
The competency of Miss Perry as a tutor is better than colored teachers generally.  She has the necessary knowledge but lacks  the qualities required to properly control  scholars. 
     
Thier are dissentions existing among the colored people at this place in reference to the school. The teacher being a baptist
