[[stamp]] BUREAU R F & A L WASHINGTON REC'D APR 17 1869 [[stamp]]
reference to the house
The church has the freedom of
the whole house (except two small
rooms in the rear) every Sunday
and occupies a room thirty
feet in length, once or twice
each week for prayer + church
meetings. I would like to inquire
for the benefit of the people, if
the lot is not as much the
property of the Gov as the house
erected there on, and whether the
Government would not sooner
protect the school than allow
a denominational church to assume
entire control of the premises.
At any rate we hope the most serious
consideration may be taken before
any change is permitted by the Bureau
Hoping to hear from you soon.
I remain your abb servant,
(Private.) Geo G. Cook
Teacher Freemen's School
