Mr Ould promised me that he would immediately take my petition and letter to Genl Stoneman and see what could be done and I told him that youe had kindly offered to go in to the Genls office with him and he said that he would see you before he would see Genl Stoneman. Ever since I came back from Richmond I have been waiting to hear from Mr. Ould, and although I wrote to him four or five times and was waiting in great anxiety, the first line that I have received from him was on Saturday last. he says that he saw the Genl and that the Genl refused to interfere in the case
