B. 2d U.S.C. Lt. Art. was found amongst the records of Bvt. Major J.H. Remington's Office.- The claim seems to have been forwarded by you. Can you furnish any information relative to Harris' whereabouts? If he cannot be found please return papers.- If however he is in Norfolk, take his receipt for discharge & forward it to these Hd. You will in legal form, establish a proper Board of Trustees for the purpose of purchasing and holding the land, which Board will purchase and have conveyed to it the land from Mr Cabell at the stipulated price $800.- at say $200.00/100 cash and $200.- at the end of each of the next three months or at shorter time if the owners require.- These amounts the Disb. Officer will furnish to the Board or to the owner in behalf of the Boad as they become due, and the building will also be turned over to the Trustees.- Chaplain Manly will communicate with you in reference to the particulars of the proposed Trust.- Yours respectfully Garrick Mallery Bvt Col.
