I have the honor to submit the following report of the operations of Bureau affairs for the month of February 1869 Viz.

The number of "Freedmen" aided by the Bureau during the past month was four hundred and five (405) all inmates of "Howard Grove Hospital" Richmond Va.

The number of "schools" in this Dist. during the month was three hundred and three (303) of which number (38) thirty eight were night schools. The number of teachers was three hundred and fifty one (351) of which one hundred & seventy eight (178) were white.

The whole number of scholars sixteen thousand five hundred and nineteen (16519) with an average attendance of twelve thousand two hundred and seventy three (12273).

Howards Grove Hospital 
The number of persons treated for sickness was one hundred and ninety four (194).

The number remaining under treatment Feby 28th 1869 was one hundred and seventy six (176).

The number of "old persons" remaining at end of month was fifty five (55).

The number of "insane" remaining February 28th was seventy (70)

The number of "orphans" under charge of the Bureau at the end of the month was eighty eight (88.)
