In reply to your favor of 26th inst I have to say that all records of Registration of Marriages, taken by officers of this Bureau of the Several Counties, were directed by a circular from these Head Quarters of 19th Decr 1868. to be turned over to the Clerks of the respective Counties. No records of the kind are on file in this office.

Can you furnish me with any information relative to the whereabouts of Maria and Billy Mitchell, and their children. Lucy, James, Caroline, Nathaniel, and Jane, formerly of the Beverly Randolph estate. Norwood, Powhatan Co. Va. An answer will oblige
