General,
I am in receipt of S.O. No 272. War Department. A.G.O. Washington. June 8th 1866. Par 3. which musters out of the out of the service of the U.S. five Assistant Quartermasters U.S.V. now on duty as Superintendents of Districts, Bureau R.F.&A.L. in this State.- With regard to two of these Officers, Viz: Capt T. F. P. Crandon and Capt Robert S. Lacey, I most earnestly ask that the order be revoked.- these two officers above named have been so long connected with

the Bureau in the discharge of the duties in which they are now engaged, and are so peculiarly efficient and capable, that their muster out and removal at this time will be a serious embarrassment to the Bureau in this State. Other changes lately made necessary have occasioned inconvenience, but the loss of these two Officers at the present time will be still more injurious to the interests of the Bureau.- I therefore respectfully urge the revocation of the order.-

Very Respectfully,
