DE'Lamater U.S.V. for prevet [[brevet]] promotion to the Rank of Lieut. Col. U.S.V. which was forwarded from these Head Quarters July 12th 1866, and the papers, accompanying the same. Surgeon DE.Lamater served during the whole war with ability, and energy, and during his long continuance in this Bureau as Chief Medical Officer in this State, has continued to show himself a most competent and meritorious officer.
