of this number Twelve hundred and forty five (1245) were in Hospital. The decrease of dependents from the proceeding month is Two hundred and fourteen (214).

The number of Refugees receiving rations was One hundred and twenty two (122), a decrease from the previous month of Thirty four (34).

The number of persons furnished aid under the Special appropriation Fund" was Thirteen hundred and forty eight (1348) adults, and nine hundred and eighty seven (987) children, showing a decrease of Three-hundred and one (301) persons.

The whole number of Schools in the District during the month was Forty eight (48) of which eleven (11) are public free schools. The whole number of Teachers was fifty six (56) of whom Twenty (20) are white. The whole number of pupils was nineteen hundred and ninety one (1991). with very few exceptions, the public free schools are closed for the summer vacation.

The number of persons treated by Bureau Medical officers for sickness during the month was Thirty six hundred and ninety eight (3698). The number remaining under treatment at the end of the month was Thirteen hundred and forty nine (1349).

The number of orphans under charge of the Bureau at the end of the month was one hundred and seventy seven (177).

The number of Insane remain the same as last reported.
