I addressed you yesterday, requesting that the appointment of Mr. Jos. M. Jones, as clerk in this Bureau be revoked. Having since learned that Mr. Jones has

a claim on the government on account of services in the army. I have the honor to request that his appointment remain as heretofore, and that the appointment of Mr. H.B. Nicholas as clerk in this Bureau be revoked to date September 30th 1867.
