I have the honor to submit the following report of the operations of Bureau affairs for the month of November 1868, viz:

The number of Freedmen aided by the Bureau during the past month was: "Twenty eight hundred and ninety seven" (2897); of this number "Four hundred and thirteen" (413), were in Hospital.

The number of Refugees receiving rations was "One hundred and sixty three" (163).

The number of Schools in this Distr. during the month was "Two hundred and seventy" (270), of which number "Forty two" (42) were night schools. The number of Teachers were "Two hundred and ninety three" (293), of which "One hundred and fifty one" (151), were white. The whole number of Scholars "Twelve thousand four hundred and seventeen (12.417), with an average attendance of "Nine thousand two hundred and eighty five" (9285).

The number of persons treated for sickness by the Bureau Medical Department
