I desire to inquire, that in the event of your inability to fit up for me, the building on Church Hill, (as indicated in my note on Sat. morning last), if you can & will secure for me, safe & quiet possession of said building: & then, if that cannot be done, will there be any opening elsewhere, & how many teachers shall I provide for?

The denomination (old school Presbyterian, laboring in other fields) which I represent, is desirous of entering field here; & cooperating with other associations in the education & elevation of the Freedmen
