Sir:-

I have the honor to respectfully request to be appointed Superintendent of Gov't Printing for the Freedmens' Bureau, State of Virginia, to execute the printing of [[strikethrough]] or [[/strikethrough]] your Bureau for this State, on Such portions thereof as you will designate.
My proposal is this:
I will furnish my own extensive Printing Office, containing Printing Material, a correct Inventory of which I enclose.
I will move the Office to Such place as you will designate. In Norfolk, Richmond, or any part of the State.
I have Superintended and been connected with Government Printing in this State for the last two years and a half.
It will require only Six (6) Printers to execute the Printing proposed.
I will procure the number of Printers required if possible from  the different Regiments in this State.
