Two thousand five hundred are over twelve and under fifty five, about five hundred are over fifty five. - Of these about three hundred are incapable of raising their own support from various causes.  The people generally are disposed to retain their former slaves and pay them for their labor and allow them to support their families.  The County Poor Farm is situated north of, and about eight miles from Franklin.  It contains about three hundred acres half of which is under a good state of cultivation.  There are thirty five paupers (thirty one whites and four blacks) at this farm, for this number there is a good supply of food.  In various portions of the County there are numbers of destitute people whom the county authorities have heretofore assisted without sending them to the Poor Farm.  These, it is to be presumed will be thrown upon the Government. for support.  Able-bodied negroes can very readily find employment at
