I have the honor of introducing to you Mr Reardon from Maryland who on behalf of some of the planters in his vicinity visits Richmond for the purpose of procuring employees to take back to Maryland where good wages will be paid. Be pleased to afford him any assistance you may be able. If you have any colored men & women unemployed, or who desire to change their location this would be a good opportunity for them do so. Mr Reardon will explain more fully the advantages he may be able to offer them. Should he succeed in getting a number please aid him as far as possible in getting transportation for them. I can not give an order for their transportation but some
