Col. Application was made to Genl Frye Prov. Mar. Genl & c., yesterday to have twenty Commissioned Officers detailed from the Veteran Reserve Corps, for duty with you, but he refuses to make such details at present. As soon as Genl. Grant returns the Veteran Reserve Corps will be consolidated in five regiments, and then one commissioned officer from each Company, and one field Officer from each regiment will be detailed for us.
Genl. Grant says that Genl Howard can have one commissioned Officer from each [[strikethrough]] regt. [[/strikethrough]] company and one field officer from each regt above (where there is more than one field officer) detailed for duty in the Bureau.
