Having been, under the operation of the Special Pardon granted to me by the President of the United States, on the 19th day of August last, reinstated in all my rights of person & property, except as therein excepted, & released from all forfeitures & all claims by the United States against any such property from the time of my compliance with the conditions of the said Pardon, I respectfully ask that the interest reserved by the government in the growing crops on my three farms in Princess Anne County, Va, amounting to one third of there crops respectively, shall be surrendered to me, or that an order shall be issued directing there crops, when gathered, to be so distributed, or that after allowing to the freedmen providing the same, the two thirds set apart for them, the remaining third [[strikethrough]] shall [[/strikethrough]] reserved for the government, or such
