Colonel

I have the honor to present the enclosed letter of introduction from Col. Max Woodhull A.A.G., & to solicit from you an appointment as Clerk or Agent in any part of your Department.

I served four years in the Army, from which I was honorably discharged on the 15th last July, after participating in some of the hardest fought battles of the war, I will add, that I am a member in good standing of the Masonic Fraternity. Hoping to have the pleasure of a favorable reply
