Colonel:

I am directed by Major Gen. Howard to request you to inform this office what final action, if any, has been taken on the applications of J.S.C. Medley and Hamilton S. Neale for restoration of property, the former of which was referred to you Sept. 1st, 1865, for investigation and report, and the latter Sept. 22d 1865, "with authority to restore in accordance with Circular No. 15, current series from this Bureau."

In the event of restoration of the property referred to; you will please forward copy of the Orders to that effect to Charles King, Esq. 234 Pa. Ave. Washington, D.C. Attorney for the above-named claimants.

As early action in these cases as may be
