Washington Nov 14 1865

Sir

I have the honor to state that I am in receipt of an order of restoration in favor of Mrs Medly, formerly Miss Sallie E. Dix, relinquishing to her the possession or of certain lands in Accomac Co. Va., lately held by the Freedmen's Bureau as abandoned; but I find no decision in regard to the lease of said lands for the present current year.

It is respectfully submitted, that as the facts in this case clearly show, that the land in question has never been abandoned by the owner and claimant, that the contract of letting should also be turned over to her, with authority to collect any rents that remain unpaid.

I have the honor therefore respectfully to ask, that an order may be issued upon Col. Brown or other custodians of the original contract of letting directing that Officer to turn over said instrument to me for delivery to Mrs Medley

I am Sir
Very Respectfully
Your Obedt Servant
Charles King, Atty for claimant
