if you can order me to hold on to the Taylor Farm as a military necessity and can take the ground that all wood and lumber cut on said farm shall be used for the benefit of the Bureau, you will find the effect beneficial upon the old unionists of Norfolk - when I saw Mr Taylor I admit his manner and language tempted me strongly to knock him down, but I tried to control myself and judge from this letter that I succeeded - 
I would not have the government be to any unreasonable expense to hold his farm and wood, but if the request can be granted, "your petitioner will ever very &c"
