Property of Mr Nottingham.

Capt Flagg called my attention specially to the status of the property of Mr Nottingham on the Easten shore. This property is now a possession of the Bureau, and Mr Nottingham being heavily in debt has made an application for its restoration. Lately however the creditors of the owner have sold the estate and Col Richard A Rush of Philad'a became the purchaser of part if not the whole. He proceeded to cut valuable timber with a view to its sale. Hearing of this Capt Flagg directed the timber cut to be seized by the Asst Supt of the Bureau for this Sub. District. which was accordingly done. Capt Flagg desires to sell the timber for the benefit of the Bureau and I would respectfully suggest that he be directed to furnish such full and complete statement of facts in the matter as will enable the Asst Commissioner to decide as to the proper course to persue on the premises.

General Condition of Affairs

I found everything in Capt Flagg's district in a prosperous condition. I could take exception to nothing that I saw- and have every confidence in the ability of the Superintendent to cope successfully with whatever may arise.
