Colonel:

The property is being turned over to me but shall be through with geting transfers till sometime next week, I will try to be ready to make full report by the 1st of next month. I will report the state of Finances as soon as I can get at them. I am doing all I can to get my Dist. in working order spedily, but getting officers detailed to me and getting the reins in my hands must of necessity take a little time. I will call on you some day the last of the week, if you are to be at home, please say if you intend being away on any days next week and what days, I will be likely to find you at home. I would take the liberty to present to you the name of E. H. Noyes Capt & C.S. for district commissary if the post is still unsupplied, I believe he has been supplying the Dist with rations and says he would to be the appointee if it should please you to get him assigned to you and be appointed
