an order this morning from Genl Mann prohibiting trespass by soldiers upon the Debree farm - where it had become a great annoyance - 

I was so "half" sick and "over" pressed yesterday that I felt I could not hold up longer and my mind being also exercised about the future and present surroundings [[strikethrough]] that [[/strikethrough]] I forwarded my resignation with a proviso; but I will work on and do all in my power to bring our crop safely to a completion so far as cultivation is concerned - 

Gill has gone home as an Invalid discharged, or I would reopen his case  The poor fellow has spat blood ever since the assault upon him by the brothers Miller - 

Please overlook the "terrible twisting" of red tape in this, "referring to many matters in a single communication"
