To Col O Brown
Asst Com Refugees & C

I went to Norfolk today and ordered Lt. Crawford to proceed to Southampton & attend to the matter referred to in your letter. Lt. Keatley will give him all necessary instructions to enable him to set matters right with the assistance of the military force in that vicinity. He goes in the morning. No cars ran on the N & P RR. I am at work on the reports called for but lack material for completing them. Will have them ready soon. I will send a letter by boat tomorrow. I intend visiting Yorktown & Williamsburg tomorrow.
