of Negro affairs, to whom will they pay the rent for this year, to the purchaser or to this Bureau? The decision of this question involves considerable money, and until I know I have decided to collect the rent and hold it subject to your decision. I would call your attention to the fact that in every case I have to get transportation on your order assigning me to duty. If I cannot have the steam tug called for some time ago, cannot you get a Genl order for free transportation for me from Col. James, so that I may avoid the excessive annoyance of procuring it almost daily. I need an order on Capt Lowe for a tug whenever I actually need it, or one assigned to me. I will try not to trouble you with any questions or matters I can settle myself.
