In reply to your telegram I have the honor to report that Capt E.W. Cuffin in his acct. current recd a day or two since reports as on hand in his safe $462.00 Bureau funds. I have made the following assignments of Asst. Supts since writing you last. Ex Capt. O.S. Pride to King William, Capt. Pride was four years in the service where he served with honor. He was during the better part of the time he was in service in a colored Regt. Ex Lieut. Margenum to Charles City Co. Lt. Margenum was in command of the gun boats at West Point when that place was attacked and has done bravely for his country. He is a man of the right starch. Mr. Bergfels [[strikeout]]agent[[/strikeout]] to Matthews Co. Mr. Bergfels has been a missionary at New Port News for some time past, and was I believe agent for the Dept of [[?Syn]] affairs at that place under Capt. Wilder. His soul is in the work. Mr. Churchill to Gloucester Co. He was formerly Supt. at Yorktown under Capt Wilder, and is one of those recommended to me
