In relation to Myers W. Fisher's political status

Bureau R. F. and A. L.
Office Supt. Dist No 1 State of Va
July 22 1865

Respectfully referred to Col O. Brown Asst. Commr. with the following remarks. The Townsfield farm owned by Mr. Fisher is used as a poor farm and there are now located on it about 30 thirty families many of the persons being helpless. The gov't has built on the place about (14) fourteen houses and a large school house. Mr. Fisher has the reputation and has boasted to me of being one of the leading secessionists on the Eastern Shore.
