States application for officers & men to relieve 24th U.S.C.T. was made yesterday.

Genl. Gibbon will do the best he can

Asks if communication has been received relative to the removal of City Point & Point of Rocks. Urges of consolidation at once as he cannot get the necessary guard at that place.
