I have the honor to forward to you the Report of investigation concerning Hugenot [[Huguenot]] Springs. Va.

The quantity of Lands extends to about 60 Acres; the Buildings belonging to this property consist of: One large hotel with 50 Rooms, kitchens etc — 20 Barracks in very good condition, which are able to accept 600 Sick men, and other Buildings for several purposes. The whole was used as a Confed. Hospital during the War, and belonged to an orphan Family of one brother and three sisters, the latter living in Richmond. One Barrack is used by a colored family, who keep a Restaurant, and who lived at the Springs since 5 years. The amount of wood cut at the Springs is about 75 to 80 Cords. The wood is said to be cut at the Springs during the war, was after the fall of Richmond taken by a Gentleman on Mr Depp who now turned it over to the Springs again by order of Gen. Terry.
