Clarksville Oct 10 1865

Sussex Bailey is hereby lisenced to engage in and carry on a retail trade in liquors and groceries in the Town of Clarksville, during the occupation of this county by Military forces of the United States, or till this lisence is annulled by an officer having competent authority, on the condition that he pay as a lisence fee to the agent of the Freedmans Bureau for this county the sum of One dollar per month, to be expended for the benefit of said Bureau.

I Geo I Dobbs a Justice of the peace for the county & state aforesaid, do certify that the above is a true copy of a lisence granted to Sussex Bailey by the aforesaid office.
