or those of its larger tributaries - as the Red River - are sufficient to call for the intervention of Government, I know not. And concerning certain schemes proposed for execution beyond the limits of our Territory, but in which we are commercially & deeply interested - such as the Railroad across the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, & the Inter-Oceanic Canal farther South - I say nothing; as those already mentioned have a paramount claim on our attention.
