morning when I commenced searching for the vest, before I had said anything to Rose about its having been taken away, she said, "Mrs Klevensahl I did not take the waistcoat away." Rose told me when I {?} to go for a police officer that she gave the money to a man named William. There is a man named William working in the barber shop. Rose has woked for me for about a month. She was not in the habit of going out often; She was always at home. I did not retire until 10 1/2 oclock on Wednesday night. When I retired my husband's vest was lying on the bureau. I sat the lamp down very near it, ad noticed it particularly. The door between my bedroom and the room in which Rose slept, was not closed.
The bolt of the door leading into the yard could have been put aside without making a noise.
Moses Manson (colored) being duly sworn says, I am the father of the accused Rose Manson. She was born Sept 12th 1852, she is therefore not thirteen years of age. She has always been an honest girl.
