Says that he did not see the woman "Martha" on the "wooden horse"

1st Sergt. George Edgerton (Capt. Stoops Clerk)

Says that the woman "Martha" said to Capt. Stoops, that she would go to Richmond, Va. in spite of him or any other Provost Marshal. Said that she did not care whether he punished her or not- that she was not punished so as to injure her at all.

The Statements of the persons herein named, part by witnesses named in the charges against Capt. Stoops- were made before me at Columbia Va. on the 20th day of July, 1865, and are submitted as the result of my investigation

Very Respectfully
Your Obedient Servant
