Capt
Randolph Wells (cold) has been to these Head Quarters, and made the following statement, which you will investigate. Wells states that he went to work for Mr. Chas Boswell, "who lives in Fluvania [Fluvanna] Co. near Lock No 14 on the Canal." after the fall of Richmond, I did so work until the 8th Day of Oct 1865, at which time Mr. B. turned him off without paying him anything for his labors, besides keeping from him two hogs which were his property. Wells also states that he came upon Lt. Minor Asst Supt, at Columbia Fluvania [Fluvanna] Co, several times, and stated to him his case, and was told he could do nothing for him

You will direct Lt. Minor to report if such is the case, and if so, why he did not act thereon.
