Sir,
In reply to yours of the 20th Inst, I have the honor to state that the supply of Labor here is about equal to the demand. All appear to be engaged, but at low wages. If there is any surplus it is Females who are working for extremely low wages, say not more than Board and Clothes and in many instances hardly so much.
