A Q M and Supt 4th Dist Va

Major,
I have the honor to report that Mr William Grieve, New Market, Caroline Co wishes to hire (6) six good hands, at Eight (8) dollars per Month. 1 1/2 pecks of Meal and 3 lbs of pork or its equivalent. Married men preferred. Wives and families who make themselves useful will be paid accordingly. No wages to be paid until the end of the year - but all necessaries supplied as cheap as possible and deducted from their wages. -

Mr J.B. Pollard wishes, a Lad. or Man to work on Farm. will pay Six (6) dollars, also a girl or woman around the house and garden - will pay Three (3) dollars.

There are a great many farmers who are in want of hands, but are either too careless or too lazy to apply for them. They say if I had them here and that they could see them they would hire them
