Colonel,
I have this day received several communications from you to which I will at once briefly reply.

Copy of G.O. No. 1. Hd. Qrs. State of Va. - received.

In compliance with communication of 3rd inst. I will attend today to obtaining from Qr. Mr. & Com'y Genl the authorization for holding the necessary property.

Copy of Special Order No. 12. Hd. Qrs. Asst. Com'r. of Va. received. The inspection cannot be made until Gen'l. Terry sends mounted troops North of the Rappahannock. See letter of July 5 on this subject.

Copy of Special Order No. 14 received. It covers several points in my letter of 5th inst. upon which information was sought. The matter will be attended to at once.

Communication of July 3rd in reply to mine of July 1st - received.
