The amiable disposition of the authorities at Washington, toward our late "enemy brethren" and "Wayward Sisters" is such that I fear that it will be but a short time before all the houses of ex-rebels & lands &c will be in the hands of their amnested & pardoned claimants when I fear the Bureau receipts will be small indeed, & the continual muster out of regiments from which many of our men are detached give us great embarrassment.
