employed to such an extent, that the Govt has not had to support more than two on a average in this Dist. I have been all over my Dist., & found out the condition of all the Freedmen &c. thoes that were not satisfied, I made so by settleing there difficulties with there old masters, or who ever they might be employed with, a rough estimate of my Dist I should think was about (14,00) or 1500 fourteen or fifteen hundred. I have had duty in three other Countys to attend to, besides this [[strikethrough]] Co [[/strikethrough]] I have sent & settled difficulties among the Freedmen & there former masters, as far as (45) & one (60) miles from here, all that needed attention at once, & it has taken time &c. of course.
