A freedman named Nelson Tinsley residing at Amherst C.H. Va has three children aged 16, 15 & 12 years respectively in Rome, Ga. taken there during the war by Dr. Hugh Brown who is reported as still retaining them.

The father desires to get possession of them and though able to support them when here, is unable to advance any money for their transportation.

Can the Bureau furnish these children with transportation to this place?

Very Respectfully,
