In letter dated Freedmen Hospital Jackson Miss. Mar. 23" 1866, States, that the Depot Quartermaster at Jackson is about to sell Government stock, wagons, &c., and requests that an ambulance and horses be turned over to Capt. P.A. Simmons, A.A.L.M.B.R.F&A.L., for use in the Jackson Hospital. Was deprived of his ambulance and team sometime ago, by the operation of orders from Dept. Hd. Qrs., and is unable to get along without them, &c. &c.

Approved & Respectfully forwarded to Asst. Commissioner. The Freedmen's Hospital at this place, being situated two miles from town, renders it necessary that the Surg. in charge should have an ambulance subject to his order. R.S. Donaldson

In a letter dated Mar 15 1866 reports the general condition of Freedman Affairs in Jones Co - States that Andy Carter freedman is an honest [[?]] and respected citizen & the owner of a comfortable home requests an order releasing his (Carter's) grand child from apprenticeship.
