Can be put at the Mill and the lumber piled &c. at a cost of the entire sum paid by Hunt- which I believe is impossible- this Estimate based upon the presumption that Hunts figures will pay for the work done- shows a Monthly revenue which might accrue to the Bureau of $2193.80

(Estimate D) This estimate is I believe a fair calculation of what the Mills at this place can do- with both saws located on the Wharf- cutting the Timber at eligible localities on the banks of the James River- rafted down and boomed at Mills as is contemplated- Those Mills would at these figures yield a revenue of $1994.42 per Month to the Bureau

These Estimates are made upon the presumption that the Lumber will sell at $15.00 per M. an exceedingly low figure but one which the Bureau ought to realize over all expenses of sales &c.

Forage and Rations are accounted for at current prices- these two items the Bureau may not be called on to reimburse the respective Departments- but they cost the Govt cash and should be reckoned in the cost of manufacture- whether the sum received for them be appropriated for other uses of the Bureau or not-

I am satisfied that these Mills could be run under the respective circumstances at the cost. and to produce the revenue estimated- and what applies to these Mills will apply to others like eligibly situated- with very little variation
