Wilder C. B. Capt.
Fort Monroe
11th Sept. 1865

Acknowledges receipt of instructions concerning the "Butler" school house.
Enclose communications & extract from Rev. Wm. Stone & the A.M. Association. Asks for orders or instructions as to what shall be done with the school house. Also in regard to school rooms for primary schools in Hampton, Slabtown & other places.
In Hampton, the old Court House has been given up to the county. Two school rooms therefore lost.
Was informed that Capt Flagg had some old stables & hospital buildings turned over to him for school purposes but the Chf Quartermaster has refused to allow such use to be made of them.
Inquires if the old buildings erected by the Govt were to be turned over with the one half of the old Chesapeake Hospital. Had he better make a requisition on old buildings unoccupied or some to be, so far as needed for this Bureau. Rcd Hd Qrs Asst Comr 9/12/65
