Bureau R. F. and A, L
Office Asst. Supt. Norfolk Co
Norfolk Va. August 24 1865.

Col O. Brown Asst. Commr.

Colonel,
This will introduce to you Col. Dulany, comdg. Marine Corps. at this Post. He is the one who has leased the house occupied by Capt. Lucas. The lease was dated August 14, and Capt. Lucas has had notice served on him to move within thirty days. As Capt. Lucas is no longer in the service, and as his accounts are probably now closed, I deem that the dignity of the Bureau demands that the conditions of the lease be fulfilled.

Very Respectfully,
Your Obt. Servt.
Charles E. Johnston
Asst. Supt. R. F. & A. L.

Capt. Lucas in the first place had 2 days notice to leave, but on the order of Genl Mann the notice was extended to thirty days.

CEJ.
